Secondary School
St. David’s Holy Faith Secondary School, Greystones, Co. Wicklow is a thriving secondary school, for boys and girls, providing the very best for our students - academically, in the field of sport and the world of arts. The school was founded in 1906 by the Holy Faith Sisters and we are a very proud school with extraordinary history and heritage. We are a Catholic school under the Trusteeship of Le Chéile Schools Trust. Our school has four key pillars that we are proud to live out and promote daily – our school ethos exemplified by our proud Catholic history and heritage; academic success and achievement for all students; excellence in sport; development and promotion of the arts.
Ascend
The proposed sculpture, ‘Ascend’ by Alva Gallagher, aims to encapsulate the collective spirit and aspirations of the student body at St. David’s Holy Faith Secondary School. Through the use of blown glass and stainless steel, the sculpture will symbolise the perpetually rising lives as a collective breath of the student body. Visually manifesting their unity and their journey in education together towards their futures. The sculpture will be integrated into the unique expansive void space of St. David Holy Faith, spanning all three floors to create a dynamic and immersive experience for students, faculty, and visitors alike. The central theme revolves around the idea of collective unity and the power of shared aspirations striving and rising towards fulfillment of their life ambitions and life purpose.
